Domaine Bachelet-Monnot

Dezize-lès-Maranges, France

ESTATE

Domaine Bachelet Monnot was established in 2005 by brothers Marc and Alexandre Bachelet through rehabilitating some old family holdings. They have been making a significant mark within historical area of Puligny-Montrachet, as well as Santenay and Maranges. The two lesser known regions represent the diversity and opportunity of Burgundy terroir - as lesser known regions compared to names of Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny, they have tremendous ability to reflect terroir in the hands of an instinctive skilled winegrower.

VINEYARD

Current holdings totalling 22 ha with 8 ha in Maranges, in which lives old vines of lower yields at 35 hl/ha.
Farming is sustainable with very logical approach to vineyard management in order to achieve pure and concentrated fruit.

WINEMAKING

The brothers are meticulous in their winemaking process with the same level of attention to detail in the entry-level wines as the Batard-Montrachet.
