Description
Appellation:
Gevrey-Chambertin
Country of Origin:
Cote de Nuits, Burgundy, France
Type:
Red/Rouge (Still)
Grape Variety:
Pinot Noir
Tasting Notes:
(Allen Meadows' rating: 87-90points):
There is a slightly candied aspect to the very ripe aromas of cassis, poached plum and licorice-scented nose. In the same fashion, this is an odd (though no unpleasant) minty character to the vibrant and moderately forward flavors that conclude in an acceptably long if mildly warm and austere finale.
(Neal Martin's rating: 87-89points):
The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes has a vibrant bouquet of expressive blueberry and raspberry fruit laced with sous-bois. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins, well-judged acidity and a very harmonious finish that lingers. One of the best village crus from the range.
