Description
Located on the Côte de Saint-Émilion, the vineyards of Château Lassègue are blessed with both extraordinary soils and an ideal south/south-west exposition to the sun. In discovering the unique micro-crus of the property, Vigneron Pierre Seillan realized he could produce more than one wine to showcase the diversity of the estate.
Primarily a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, Les Cadrans de Lassègue, the estate’s second label, is refined and elegant, a beautiful and perfect expression of its fruit.
Grapes: 90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc
Barrel Ageing: 10 Months in 20% New French Oak
Age of the vines: 40 to 50 years old
Tasting:
The 2019 vintage of Les Cadrans de Lassègue shows deep and brilliant coloring. The nose showcases black cherry, cranberry, spice and violet, expressing a silky Merlot character. Rich and round on the palate, with a touch of well-integrated oak and fine-grained tannins, the wine is polished and exuberant. Fresh acidity on the finish reflects the total harmony of the Cabernet Franc. A Saint-Émilion in perfect equilibrium, to drink now and over the next 10 years.
