Condrieu, Cote-Rote, Saint-Joseph, Rhône Valley
Emblematic domain of the Rhône Valley, Domaine Vernay is renowned for its Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu wines.
Christine Vernay, who has been in charge of the Domaine and the vinification for more than 20 years, succeeded in 1996 to her father (Georges Vernay, recognized for having saved the appellation and the Viognier grape) and to her grandfather (Francis Vernay ), at the origin of the creation of the Domaine.
The Domaine is today 24ha planted and worked, including 17 in hillsides (steep slopes), spread over 3 appellations: Condrieu (10ha), Côte-Rôtie (6ha) and Saint-Joseph (2ha), and 2 IGP Syrah and Viognier (6ha).
Certification in organic viticulture, careful vinification, regular planting and mass selection of plants,… Christine Vernay has hoisted her to the highest steps of the podium: recognized for being an outstanding winemaker, some of her wines have been awarded the famous 100/100.
